She flinched and moved back to the end of her bed when he began to get too close so he froze, and instead held it out to her for her to take. ‘Here, take this; it will help.’

Ninae looked at him with a deep frown. ‘The last time someone offered me tea, it didn’t end well.’

He sat down on the wooden chest at the foot of the makeshift bed, careful to not impose upon her personal space, but Ninae could feel a sense of claustrophobia beginning to set in.
